Each week or so I carry off one of my children for some Mama and Me time. This week it was Mama and Sage. We went to the grocery store, but even something as simple as this can be a special adventure when you have several children ;0). We were taking our time strolling around the store in an unstressed manner. When you have only one child you can do this and it is quite enjoyable. We gazed upon the fresh fruit section talking about the grapes produced in Chili and cantaloupes that were still partly frozen. We then sauntered over to the deli and ordered us up a corn dog ~ special stuff for a special time...I am tellin' you. Meandering over toward the dairy aisle my little Miss paused and said -- a bit loudly I might add --" Mom? Have you ever been in jail?" There was a kind middle aged gentleman shopping next to us at that particular moment... of course. His stiffened and his eyes grew large... I do believe he held his breathe in wait for the answer. I was tempted to say "Yes, honey but they released me last week" but thought better of it. "Thou shalt not lie" came to mind so I simply told the truth "Nope, can't say I have" I heard the man give a sigh of relief as he walked away. Smiling and chuckling he said "From the mouths of babes..."
The Quilt Shop, a lovely small open spaced boutique I enjoy occasioning, offers a ample selection of quality hand selected fabrics so we decided to visit, drool over the lovely fabrics and treat ourselves to a fat quarter. The owner greeted me and we got to chatting when we heard the sound of my little Miss clapping her hands in great excitement exclaiming 'Oh mama! We can get a free puppy!!" Casting my furrowed brow in her direction I moved my eye to inspect the sign she had been reading. The owner and staff started laughing as I read "Children left unattended will be given a cappuccino and a puppy" I smirked.... I grinned, then told her "I'll take hazelnut in my cappuccino" ;)..... From the mouths of babes.
Life is good.
Willow went to the dentist. She did beautifully and I was so proud of her. She is only two you know and has already been through so much in her wee little life. Sadly, everyone of her teeth, with the exception of three on the front bottom are seriously decayed..... rotten. She will need to go to the hospital to have all the work completed which will include pulp therapies, nerve therapies and crowns on all her teeth.... Stainless steel in the back and white composite in the front. When Mountain Man was working we had good dental insurance. We do not however ,have this available to us any longer. The dental work will be somewhere in the range of 12,000.00. it might as well be a billion right now. lol But,I have peace about it. The Lord has never let me down.... even when I have let Him down. I got a call this morning that it will all be covered. I praise the Lord. He is good. He is amazingly good to the humble and we have been humbled. Humbled by circumstance and humbled by His gifts and care. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 1 Peter 5:6
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:13
We savored a rare sunny after noon at the park last week. Such a nice reprieve from the winter snows we have had. It only lasted for a short time as the next day the cold and fluff had returned but oh, how delicious it was to feel the sunshine upon us!
